Question ASPIRE 5051 "Wireless LAN Disabled" Constantly

ASPIRE 5051 "Wireless LAN Disabled" Constantly
Acer Aspire 5051. Windows 7 Home Premium.
Toggling the wireless button all I get is "Wireless LAN Disabled".
No networks found even though I know there are at least six within range.
Control Panel Hardware shows no errors in Atheros5005 device.
