hi i had the weird linux distro *scratches head trying to remember name*
it was installed shipped. replaced it with xp, now my keyboard buttons are doing a mac on me or something, the symbols are in the wrong places, others don't work e.g. pound sterling symbol.

is there a simple fix for this?

XP .. hmm yes there is.

You have installed XP without chaning the language and keyboard layout. Your keyboard is currently set to US layout (@ key = " key and vice versa).

You can set it to UK layout by going to the control panel >
click switch to classic view >
region language options >
click language tab >
under text services and input languages click the details button >
under installed services click add

There you can select your input language and keyboard layout

Dos this apply to Vista ultimae as well which defaults to US language?
