Default $750 laptop from Acer

Newegg.com - Acer Aspire AS5739G-6132 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T6500(2.10GHz) 15.6" 4GB Memory DDR3 1066 250GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce GT 130M - Laptops / Notebooks

To me this looks like a solid laptop at an unbeatable price. Any reason I shouldn't get it? Is Acer a bad/cheap company?

Acer isn't the best as far as brands go. Aside from the slower cpu this MSI has similar specs and is from a better company.

Newegg.com - MSI GX630-028US NoteBook AMD Athlon X2 QL-62(2.00GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 4GB Memory 250GB HDD DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT - Laptops / Notebooks

Looking at the reviews, that laptop seems to be prone to unsolvable problems with the hardware...

Don't put to much weight on newegg reviews because the people writing them usually don't know what they are talking about.

I own a MSI laptop and their build quality is excellent. I would buy another laptop from them without hesitation.

Okay, I have an Acer 8930, and have had no issues with it. My moms had 5920 for almost 2 yrs, with no issues.

While MSI are no doubt nice systems, I've heard 0 issues first hand about Acers.

Just like all manufactured goods, you get bad runs, doesnt mean theyre all crap
