All she is doing is email and web surfing? Netbook. Or if she wants a bigger screen, there are TONS of laptops out there for cheaper than $600 and can do this. My laptop is a toshiba with a Pentium Dual Core 2.2GHz, 3GB DDR2 800, 250GB HDD, DVD+/-RW, 15" screen.

If I was helpful, please click the icon on the left hand side of this message that looks like a check mark Thanks!

There are alot of laptops under $600. I know someone will probably knock me for saying it, but go look at Best Buy, or your local electronics store. I know we have a gateway with a 250GB HDD, AMD Athlon x2 (rm-72 I think) and 3 gigs of ram for $499.99 a full 100 off of your price.

Or you could go with one of our Compaqs for $399.99 which has 2 GB of ram and a AMD x2 as well. Easily enough for email and web surfing.
