Default 22" widescreen monitor with laptop

Hi All

I am contemplating having a docking station setup for my Acer TravelMate 4202 laptop. Getting the keyboard and mouse is easy enough (just USB connections). The problem arises here:
I want to buy a 22" widescreen monitor (which uses a 1680x1050 resolution), but I am not sure if my laptop can support a resolution that high. Can anyone please advise if it will work.

Thank you in advance

Your laptop (which has Intel GMA 950 graphics) supports a maximum resolution of 2048x1536. However, I'm not sure whether the particular resolution of that monitor is supported.

As long as you have up do date drivers you should be fine. It's a standard widescreen resolution, I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work.

Thank you to both of you for the helpful replies. I am going to go to a computer store with my laptop today and see if they will let me plug my laptop into one of their demo 22" monitors to test. Will let u guys know what happens. In the meantime, if anyone else knows anything about this, please post.
Thank you
