ok this may sorta be a newb question, but here it is...

i was wondering if the 64 performs better then the XP if we'r compairing them with all other variables remaining the same.

example-

- Athlon 64 3000, 512 cache

- Athlon XP 3000, 512 cache

if both of those were using a non 64bit OS, with pc3200 ram, same HD's, etc.

do thy perform the same? or does the 64 have some performance advantage? and if so id be curiouse to know what?

The 64s outperform the XPs so much it is incredible. And I am talking about in 32-bit...

Plus, the 64s have a 1600 Mhz FSB which theoreticaly can reach 2000 Mhz!

but agex, i thought that the 64s can only reach that fsb when using a 64-bit os?

hehe, nice avatar, too

and i was asking for a compairison using all other variables the same, so thy both use 400fsb in this case with pc3200 ram. would 1 still perform better at equal bus speeds?
