Question x700/6600 AGP for 9800Pro, better bang for buck?

which vid card would be the best for a comp along the lines of 3ghz pentium 4 s478, 1gb ddr-ram? I also need a good economic-wise card

out of those 2 cards, I'd say the 6600 is better
if you haven't already got the P4, I would suggest getting an Athlon 64 3000+ or 3200+ in socket 939

i heard that pentiums are better for multimedia, 3D editing, or overall stuff, but athlon 64's are great for gaming

athlons are good for everything, and the fact that is 64-bit makes it cooler too.

when the Athlon 64's actually start processing in 64-bit, they should theoretically double in performance
applications running 32-bit are running out of possible instructions that can be used, so now 64-bit are giving them a lot bigger margin, and when they do get 64-bit applications, you'll be ready for them if you do get an Athlon 64
