That's because it all depends on the game and type. If you see benchmark results on half-life 2 then ati smokes nvidia. See the same cards benched against each other on doom 3 and nvidia smokes ati. You are wrong about the ram size a bit efd. A lot of times the 128mb xt versions or what have you outperform their 256mb counterparts. But in certain games with certain settings the extra ram will help you. Which is why I would recommend an x800 xl pci-express. Because it has 256mb ram but also the 16 pipelines for speed.
