Thats not a bad setup, try the pc audio forum. I myself am waiting till i get my Klipsch 6.1 surround setup. So far i have got my 2 front speakers and sub. But thats gonna do me good for now. Also i just use the altec lansings for everyday use. But that soundcard is not bad.

I have the Creative Audigy Z2S Platinum Pro (which is the sound card with the external box) and it does sound awesome. Also it has the one 1/8" digital out for the Inspire 7.1 speakers so no annoying three cable setup.

In my opinion it is awesome
