Default Work PC. Need help deciding

Currently I am still running 2xPIII 700/100/256. I came accross a socket A duron 1000/100/128 that I have stable at 1.2ghz/120. What do you think will perform better? There are alot of programs and crap I will need to copy and I want to know if its worth it...

My job is cheap. I wish they would get me into this century.
