Will this Setup Work?

Will this setup work?? I love gaming but I'm not to great with technical stuff. I want to get the Asus VH236 and play xbox and hook up my TV to it. I want to be able to play my xbox through a VGA wire and then hook up my cable box to the monitor using an HDMI cord. Will this work? And does this TV have built in speakers that will let me here audio from the cable box? I read on one site that it does but I just want to make sure. Sorry if this sounds confusing. Any help is greatly appreciated.​

It does come with speakers. I believe it should work. not 100% sure, though.

Thanks for the reply. One question. From the description I am taking it that it comes with speakers not that it has built in speakers. Is that how you understand it also? Not that it matters a whole lot but would be easier to have a TV through built in speakers rather then external computer speakers.
