will most games run fine on this?

Want to know if an amd sempron 64 3100@1.8ghz, 1 gig corsair xms2 ram, with a Nvidia 6800gs 256mb pci-e. I have another computer, a pent 4 @ 2.4ghz, 1 gig pc3200, using a Nvidia fx5700 256mb and it can hardly handle games like F.E.A.R, bf2, and doom3. Just asking if this combination can run most games and handle the games listed. Thank you .

The graphics card and ram should be fine, however the Sempron won't be able to run them at the speed which games will require.

Semprons are low end CPU's built for those whom want to read emails and the like. Go with an Athlon, if your on a budget you can get an AMD 64 3200 for like £70 or there-abouts, and that should 'keep you good' for a reasonable while.

They will run, but not on high settings.

Semprons are low-end, but they still work. They have less cache than Athlons, so they can't work as far ahead, thus slowing them up a bit.

Actually, the graphics card will probably be the bottleneck for most games.

keep the ram. get a amd athlon 4000 for about $135 on newegg and get a 7600gt. there you're set.
