My brother bought a gigabyte and personally I thought they aren't that great. I like MSI and Abit personally. Also, have you checked your motherboard for CPU FSB jumpers, because my brothers Gigabyte had a jumper on it that put the CPU down at 100FSB automatically, upon removing the Jumper the CPU was read as it should have been, a 2600+ XP, but it was reading it as a 2100+...you should check out your BIOS and see if there's anywhere to change it from 100 to 133 or atleast see if there's a jumper on the board

A 1700+ would do much better in gaming than a 1.1ghz and it would do better in all performances
