Default will this hd workin my old cpu?

hey guys and gals, just joined and have a few ?'s. this is the state of my cpu now

my question is will these hd work in it?? -


to replace the original and


for deep storage. thanks for the help.

you gotta check if your motherboard supports SATA (i doubt it)

you're better off going with IDE because i'm sure your mobo supports IDE

thanks for the quick reply. i don't know anything about cpu's. only installed an ethernet card. not sure how to check mobo. i figured since it said ata-100 on hd it would work. how do i check the mobo.

forgot to say i think my curent hd is about to quit on me. during start up and shut down it is making a grinding noise.

Grinding = not good.

Like diablo said, unless your mobo is fairly new (like, brand new), you prabably do not have SATA. Go with a regular IDE drive.
