I just purchased a whole new system from newegg:
gigabyte 915 pro
3.0 prescott
1 gig corsair ram
ati x800 (pci x16)
500 watt psu
but im going to be using my two hard drives from before
a magnetic data technologies 100 gig
and a western digital 80 gig
my problem is when it tries to boot, the first bios screen doesn't show the hard drives at all. however, then it shows my hard drives when displaying the RAID set up. (they arent set up in RAID either). it wont boot to windows because it says there are no hard drives. so i boot from the xp cd and go to reinstall windows and it says there are no hard drives there.
knoppix will boot so i think that means the rest of my system is fine?
ive searched these forums but nothing quite seems to fit.
and ive checked the giga-byte support site, it told me to change an option in the bios so that the system waits for the hard drives to boot a little longer. however there is no such option in the bios.
