Why Should I Flash My Bios?

Sup guys...i was bored and wanted to know what the advantages of flashing my bios would be...i have the ASUS P4P-800-E mobo with bios virsion 1.02 and i want to upgrade to virsion 2.11....but i dont know how safe it is and if i mess up what kind of damage i could do ....thanx for the help

If there was a powercut, you have to order a new BIOS chip - same if you screw it up - don't see how though, as when I did it on my Abit AV8 3rd eye, it did it on its own, all I needed to do was extract the BIOS onto a bootable floppy, insert it into the floppy drive and turn the PC on.

Basically, there is no point, uless you need the new features, or your BIOS is corrupt - why I needed to do it.
