Why are dvi cables so rare and expensive?

The only ones I could find are like fifty bucks and twenty feet long. All I need is one for my monitor to my tower, less than 4'. Why can't I find any?!?

but i am actually strating to see what you mean. where the hell do you find them? i think they come with most monitors, and they only sell the longer ones do you can extend
