Default when and how?

since it seems to be that most people on this site agree that AMD is better than Intel i ask the question(s) , "when and how did AMD get on top"

i know Intels are better for a few things but overall it seems as AMD is overall better. when and how do u think AMD got on top?

(if you think otherwise that's fine, tell us why you think Intel is better...")

well there really is no specific 'when' per se.....they started really coming up with the XP series IMO.....they just tend to be cheaper than Intel and still can compete with intel and give them a run for their money in terms of performance even with the lower clock speeds....they generally excell in gaming as you've noticed, but Intel has for the most part retained the glory in terms of multitasking, BUUUUUT with this new AMD Dual core X2 processors, intel is losing ground in that area too as the X2 dual cores destroyed the Intel dual core processors out right now.

Mind you single cores vs single cores it's basically AMD better for gaming, Intel better for multitasking
