can you provide some figures.

is that why the Athlon 2800+ which runs at 2.2 GHz(correct me if i am wrong) is equivalent to the p4 2.8 GHz.

by the same token, that would mean the amd running at say 1 GHz (athlon) was better than the pentium running at 1 Ghz.

Seeming how they have lower clock speeds and lower bus then yeah that would be what makes them faster. Just look up each processors IPC. I BELIEVE, intels is 6 IPC, and AMD is 9 IPC. Thats just a general estimate, but you get the picture...
