whats up with all the different brands?

at newegg they have 34 different kinds of the 6600gt... whats up with that... is there really a difference between all these brands? or is the only difference the price?

the difference is quality. Thats like saying whats up with the different kinds of cars out there lol.....some suck some dont.

Leadtek and eVGA are the top two 6600GT's IMO

they all use the same chipset, but these companies take the chipset and make their own cards; companies like AOpen or rosewill are priced lower and are made with lower quality stuff, causing them to be hotter or not overclock good

the best brands for 6600gt are eVGA and leadtek

yeah, there might be 34 different items listed under the 6600GT but lots of those would be lower quality ones from the same companies, like each company could have 4 cards in any given section, just with lower quality components etc.
