Default whats the speaker headphone jack on the cd drive??

does it do anything becasue i plugged in my headphones but I dont hear any sound coming out from it.. these is the one on the cd drive and their is also a volume adjuster next to it... but its not working. thanks _ John

its analogue sound for cd's. its normally not used. in fact i think its been sort of obsolete since windows 98. there is an option somewhere in media player to disable digital sound for cd's or something along those lines which will probably allow you to use headphones on the front jack

when you open the case, and look for the cd-rom, you have to make sure the audio jack is connected from the cd-rom to the sound card.

This is also an old method and this uses the cheap AD converters found in your CD ROM compared to better ones on a soundcard
