Right now, I'm running a really nice P4 rig. However, it was built by the budget. Now that I have some cash coming, I will do a total of a eight upgrades that will run me somewhere around $500-600. So, here we go...

Yeah, eVGA is good brand to go with. Plus they have the Step-Up program which is nice. Also I wouldn't recommend that ASUS CD-Rom, I have the same one, and its horrible, it takes twice the time to spin up a disk as my Lite-On DVD/CDRW combo drive does, and sometimes it sounds like a jet is getting ready to take off.

if you want to spend a "little" more, at this time, I would definitly recommend the eVGA 6800 GT, 128 MB prolly outperforms the 6600 256MB. the 6800 is the best to play with doom 3, and look around cause you can find the 6800 package with doom 3. If you want to spend a little more would if I were you...if you have it.

Echo_ I had it oced to 3.73 GHz, but my PSU wasn't strong enough to hold up against it.
