the 6600GT maybe but i doubt you can put the settings on high really.

Oh you have the 9600se... well pretty much anything will be better than that because it's the low end card of it's class. The 6600GT will be faster than the Radeon 9800 Pro but Half-Life 2 is an ATi favored game I believe. Either way it will play them very well, and no card you get for $250 or less will allow you to play that game on all high settings. If you want that then you're looking at an eVGA 6800GT at $400- http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...130-208&depa=0

I would say the 6600 GT is about the best you're gonna get for under $250, and it shoud be able to play HL2 really well

im surprised your card doesnt play it well because my ati aiw 9600 pro plays it very well and my system is probably slower than yours

The 9600pro is better. What settings do you have yours on. Mine only plays decent on the 800x600.
