wd40 is liquid and drys to a hard shell like paint--lubricates till it drys
lithium is greese and wont dry while it lubricates but will eventually burn in the right enviroment or just collect dust and crap till it no longer works
graphit is dry and lubricates while dry is the same material found in a number 2 pencil- turns to sticky mud when wet
