Yah the 2.8 is nice and fast and its the prescott which gets hot so i reccomend getting the northwood version. But to give you an example dell is charging 480 bucks for that pentium 4 2.8 ghz which you can buy at www.newegg.com for 166 bucks. Hmm would i rather buy one prebuilt or... Build my own for a lot cheaper. I tell you what heres everything you would need to build Your own.
intel p4 2.8 ghz $166
enermax case with 350watt psu $66
artec cd burner $35
Sony floppy drive $12
Western Digital 40gb hard drive $53
Standard keyboard $5.50
Optical mouse $14
ASus motherboard $102
Kingston 512mb pc3200 $95
Ati 9600se 128 mb video card $95
This is probably what your dell you were building looked like......Hmm thats odd i bet $655 is alot less then what your dell is at right now. Also the quality and performance of these is 5x what dell is using.
