I will eventually need to buy a new monitor for my soon to be built system. I will be doing a lot of gaming, but don't wanna spend 800 bucks on a monitor. I want a 17 or 19 inch CRT or LCD (what better considering both quality and price). Can anyone recomment something?

Check aroud newegg and you'll find alot of nice ones
You can get a 21" CRT for around $450, but you'll need a very good video card to actually play games at 1600x1200 and above
19" range from about $160 to $250, but have the max resolutio the 21" have, usually they top out at about 1600x1200 and run optimal at 1280x1024
