Default wHat happened to my cd rom??

My CD RW suddenly disappeared from the my computer folder. I went to the device manager but it wont let me update,or install a driver for this device. Could anyone help me out??? I cant even play a cd.

yes. I went to the device manager and tried to install a driver for it but it says that an error occured while i was trying to update it.

open your case and see if it somehow came unplugged

And if it isnt unplugged check to see if your BIOS see's the CD-ROM drive.

It never would of came up in the device manager if it was unplugged.

If the device manager is seeing it, so is his BIOS.

All I could think of, is try to download a new driver for it, like as in an exe. By the way, what's the HD? Brand? (This could let me get you more info)

I agree, the only thing it could be is the bios, unless the drive itself is broken...
