i am using internet explorer 6
i have done all windows updates

i have had problems for about a month now.
i deleted a bunch of music files i didnt listen to anymore, and then i started getting a messed up computer.

i have the activex control thing set to disabled, it bugs me too much.

when i reformat, please tell me a really good and safe browser to use. I think firefox is pretty good, but as good as IE?

Use firefox, I have been using it for a few months and have not got any spyware before. When i used to use IE it always got hijacked and made me accept active-x controls

Netscape is just as bad (so i hear) as IE when it comes to letting in spyware/adware and just plain crap.

Use Firefox. It's safer, and you have tabbed browsing. I'm so 'addicted' to the tabbed browsing feature, i downloaded Firefox on my school computer just to have it.

File>New tab, its like having another window open, cept in the same window, so you can have multiple websites open in the same window using tabs. just click between tabs.
