im going to make an external HD, ive found several enclosures on ebay, but what type of HD do I need,:confused:

SATA=Serial Advanced Technology Attachment
IDE=Intelligent Drive Electronics
SCSI=Small Computer System Interface
SCA=Single Connector Attachment

You need 3.5" SATA or IDE HDD
2.5" are for laptop HDD

well it depends... most external enclosures send data thru usb or firewire so you could used either ide sata or scsi... but sata and scsi are more expensive and youd be getting rid of any performance boost u see with those interfaces as the communication speed of usb and firewire is fairly limited.. i would just go with an ide hd and an idea enclosure... itll cost u less :)
