-THD-200A2 P :: Seagate / 200GB / 7200 / 8MB / ATA-100 / EIDE Hard Drive

-P450-8529 :: XFX GeForce 6600 GT / 128MB DDR3 / AGP 8X / Dual DVI / TV

-Corsair XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, (Twin Pack) 184 Pin 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200

-C44-5021 OEM :: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy OEM Sound Card

-U13-4004 :: U.S. Robotics 56K* V.92 Performance Pro Modem

-S167-3366 :: Sony DRU710A / 2.4x DVD+R DL / 16x4x16x DVD+RW / 8x4x16x DVD-RW / 48x24x40x CD-RW / Dual / Nero Software / DVD Burner

-And a fan, I haven't choosen ...

Let me know if you think any of these don't fit together or such hardware is a waste. This total comes out to be 1.5k in Canadian so about 1.1k in USD.

Looks pretty good. If you can afford it though, upgrade to a Socket 939 motherboard with a Socket 939 version of the CPU you have picked out. Get the Asus A8V Deluxe mobo or the Abit AV8 to go with your socket 939 CPU.

i have a question though. why is the two boards you just suggested have basicaly the sme chipset name? a8v/av8. kinda funny if you ask me! lol

my suggestion is dump the seagate and get a better hd. If funds support it , look into the Maxtor line, i find that they will give more gig for the buck and a better warrenty.

nvd fn by ...good question , different manufactures i guess.
if its not artifical intelligence, why have it?

Yeah go with the 939 socket. It will offer MUCH more expandability in the future.
