The BIOS and other tools included with the motherboard is a key factor in my purchase of a motherboard.

Video card is based entirely on reviews and specifications.

You want a motherboard that is very expandable/fast. With alot of PCI slots. either an AGP or a PCI-Xpress slot. With SATA support.
Also how much ram it supports, most mobos support 4gbs. Also Dual Channel capabilites are a plus.
