Default What is 48bit Lba Mode?

I'm on a Packard Bell Imedia 5116SE system, and I was looking into upgrading my small 80 GB hard drive into a 320 GB hard drive and was told make sure your motherboard supports 48 bit lba mode..

If anyone could tip me in on what that is.. and how do I check?

it's a bit hard to explain, but in short, it's a technology designed to break the 137GB limit BIOS's used to have on hard drives

you also need at least windows 2000 SP2 or Windows XP SP1
