Default Web Accelerator

I'm sure you all have high speed internet, like myself, comcast or verizon or whathaveyou. Lately I been seeing alot of commercials for dial up internet. What the hell? Who uses that anymore?! If you cant afford high speed, stay the hell off of the internet. Anyway, netzero and earthlink seem to be the big dial up's that are still around. They all talk about how they have their 'Web Accelerator' which will give you 5x faster speed or whatever. Anyone know how that works? Does it work on the V.92 standard or is there some new standard that came out since I stopped using modems?

This question if for thetrue 1337, so please dont post with useless information and rambling. Especially if you have no clue.

All it does is compress images so that pages load faster. It's still the same dial-up with the same service just accelerates stuff that would take longer to d/l.
