Usually because people start using their own personal experiences as arguments. They don't get that it's not relevant in the bigger picture, but hey they bring it in anyway. And everyones experiences are going to be different, some good some bad etc.

And yeah, this stuff up by Nvidia was pretty bad
usually a bad driver will just cause unstability, to actually kill the card is a pretty big **** up lol
