I think what he means by "sharing memory" is that the video card dips into the pc's ram to use it as video ram, not vice versa. I've seen this feature mentioned in Dell catalogs with vid cards like "Intel EXTREME Graphics 2"!! IE: crappy cards that don't have their own memory and so steal it from the main supply.
