I have a quick question about video cards and PC games.
If a video card or type of video card is not supported for a particular game, does that mean that it will NOT work or that it's simply not optimized for that card?

Relative info:
Game: Silent Hill 3 (PC)
Video Card: nVidia GeForce4 MX 4000
Driver: Current

There are 2 ways to render.. OpenGL and Direct3d, nvidia cards are optimized for direct3d (excluding the quadro line).. If the game is using open gl it should still work (nvidia still supports opengl), but you wont get as high of an fps using it.

Well what senseless said is kinda true, except nvidia is very good at everything with ATI only having a slight lead in some area's

For your MX4000 it will be hard to get it working with alot of games. Even if it pysically runs them it will be too slow to play most of today's games. I would stick to older PC games.
