Default Video card speed

My friend has a motherboard that only supports up to 4x agp, and if he were to get a new v-card.... what kind of difference will it have on it.
I know it will be slower, but by how much.

it prolly wont slow it very much, bandwidth rarely gets that high on graphics cards, i liken it to wireless networking, people are going for dual wireless G setups that can do 100mbps and they are doing nothing but running a 1mbps internet connection through it... its kinda unnecessary... only problem might be some boards not supporting it, im not sure if all 8x can run at 4x

Not all 8x cards can run on 4x. In fact, it's getting harder and harder to find cards that support 4x.

If your board only supports 4x, it is definately time to upgrade.
