Talking Video card question

Hey whatsup,
I'm thinking of buying a new video card for my computer. What would you recommend for playing games like counter strike and world of warcraft and half life 2? I was thinking of buying the radeon 9600 xt ( the one that comes with hl 2) But, im not sure if i put a high end video card in my computer that the other parts of my comp will be able to keep up. I have an Emachines with 256 mb, 60 gb HD,and a 2000+ AMD processor. Also, the model # is a26ev17f. Thanks

i would definitely go with the 9600xt, the other parts will be sufficient, since playing games utilizes mainly the video card. the other parts dont necessarily need to be able to "keep up".

Asus A7n8x-x
athlon 2800
radeon 9600 pro
512 mb 2700 mem
western digital 80gb special edition

yeh, all those parts are fine, you don't need a super CPU for gaming if you have a good video card; if you don't have a good video card it uses some of the main CPU time to process graphics
