Thing is unless you host a LAN regularly it's not worth having anything more powerful.

And that depend's what do you need to host is it just local traffic or is it accessible to the internet? if it's a web server and it's accessible via the net what kinda site is it going to host?

I think it could do it. I hosted off my P4/256MB RAM a vent and a CS 1.6 server. It was a bit laggy, but due to lack of RAM.

Super old case lol took the front off to allow airflow and painted it black. Did some stripe work.
