Default USB Problem

How can I tell if my external hard drive is running at USB 1.1 or 2.0? I have it plugged into my USB 2.0 ports but it doesn't look like it's running at that speed. It's running extremely slow. It takes about an hour just to transfer 1gb.

BTW, my external hard drive is a Western Digital USB 2.0 80gb 7200rpm drive. http://www.westerndigital.com/en/pro...sp?DriveID=109

Are you sure you have the USB 2.0 drivers installed? I think USB 2.0 ports and devices are capable of running at 1.1 if only the 1.1 drivers are installed.

Yeah, the USB2 drivers were installed with Windows XP SP1 update. USB2 is acknowledged in the Device Manager where it says "USB Enhanced Host Controller".

I took a screenshot from SiSoft Sandra. It says that the USB version is 2.0 and that the speed is at full. I don't get it though since the speed is listed as 12mbps, which is the max speed for a USB1 port. A USB2 port, as I understand, runs at 480mbps.
