Hi, I have a Toshiba TEcra 520 with 160 mb RAM, 166 MMX Intel Processor running windows ME, I installed XP Pro and it runs pretty smooth except i couldnt use my USB so i installed the 'usbport.inf' driver from my other XP machine and the usb worked :D My camera and Phone works on it but my modem wont install. Its an external USB modem, and when i use the XP drivers it wont find it. If it does install when i dial it just freezes when it says' opening port'. PLEASE someone help. Thank you.

Try going to the Toshiba website and downloading any BIOS updates or USB patches that might be available. It seems like an issue with the USB port. Also, make sure you are running Service Pack 1 and the latest patches on your Windows XP.

I have tried going to Toshiba website and updating my bios but i still have the problem. How can i download the service pack because my net wont work without my modem? Thanks in advcance
