Default USB Flash Disk not recognizing proper amount of gigs.

I got a memory stick and it's not reading the correct amount of memory. It is supposed to be a gig, and its only recognizing 125 (ish) megs.

those megs work fine but how can i recover the rest. i tried various software and i cannot reformat the gig stick. its not important but id like to get it goin . thanks.

ps is it junk? haha
