Default usb ethernet extender

I'm trying to setup a webcam 50' away from my computer using usb. I've been reading that usb only works normally at 16' max. I talked to a guy that says he runs a webcam over 50' using a usb ethernet connector. The only thing I can find that I see is a usb ethernet extender. The thing that has me concerned is it says, complient with usb 1.1. Does that mean it will run at 1.1 speed? How would you set up a webcam 50' away? Money is not easy to come by, so the cheaper the better, lol. As long as it works.

Default Re: usb ethernet extender

Do you have a link to the cable you are referring to? And if it says backwards-compatible with USB 1.1 then it is probably USB 2.0.
