Question USB to Ethernet Adapter?

Do they make a USB to Ethernet adatper or a firewire to Ethernet adapter? The reason I ask is because I have an external hard drive I use to backup two computers over my network but in order for me to do it now I have to constantly have the hard drive connected to one of the computers and that computer has to be on. I would like to be able to connect it to an open port on my router and setup scheduled backup s on my laptop and desktop to it. Thanks.

You might want to do a pricegrabber search to see if you can find lower prices.

Check out Newegg; hopefully you're a Yankee.

i am not so sure they would work with an external... they seem to be for providing ethernet connections to a computer.

also i no linksys makes a decent one, only problem is that when you plug stuff in it gets formatted
otherwise its really speecy and does a good job of connecting to a network
