I've been playing around with my USB 3.0 trying to get the best speeds possible out of it. Supposedly 4.8gb/s, I know that's not happening, but I would like at least like 400mb/s.
Currently I average around 40mb/s. It feels like its still running 2.0.
System:
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P
Intel Core 2 Quad Extreme Q8200
6gb Corsair ddr2 800
Acomdata PCIe USB 3.0 Host Controller
Writing to a Segate 2.5" 5400rpm drive in an Acomdata external USB 3.0 enclosure.
I looked into my actual driver settings before coming here, I was running NEC host controller firmware 3.0.2.1, I've updated that to 3.0.2.7. I was running driver version 1.2 something, now its running 2.1.28.0 Also comes back as Renesas instead of NEC, (which I understand fully why.)
After all of that, I still cannot achieve really any faster than 40mb/s.
Is this my card? Is this my drive? would a powered drive that spins faster make a difference?
Thanks in advance!
