hi this is my first posting . i have just reinstalled win 98 and its not recognizing my usb ports when i go to device manager they arnt there, when i tried installing my web cam an error came up saying it needed a working usb port any
ideas please

is this win98 or win98se?

if its on board usb,check in the bios to make sure that their enable.

ive never heard of PC's not recognising they had USB, I think it has more to do with the mobo, check the BIOS like btv said

First to verify the USB host controller is installed ,and make sure it is enable in setup. Instal a web cam , you need to install software first , then the cam .
