Urgent!! Heatsink problems.

Hey everyone. I'm building a computer for someone, with a retail P4 CPU. However, in installing the heatsink, one of the 2 handles broke on top of the heatsink. My question is, is it worth it to wait the RMA and get a new CPU/Heatsink, will I survive with just 1 working handle, or should I just go out and buy a new heatsink.

hmm...if its secure when you clip it on..then you're alright...but if it wiggles...then youre out of luck..perhaps a superglue would do the job..its just plastic you know.

I called up intel and they said they were going to ship out a new heatsink altogether! Nice guys, they are. I guess I'll just use the old heatsink as a paperweight..

Intel is usually pretty good about stuff like that.. Glad you had a good experience with them..
