UPS and Generators

Hello,

I would like to ask if anyone out there works for a company that has a backup generator in their office. I'd like to know how often your company does a backup generator test and if you do it during production hours. Also I'm hoping someone can tell me if generator tests which involve shutting the power down can damage a UPS or cause it to weaken.
