Question upgrading from my celeron d 2.66

I recently bought a new board, cpu, vid card, and power supply, and now I want to upgrade the cpu. If I hadn't already bought this board I'd get a LGA-775 but now I'm limited to Socket 478. I want to get a P4 this time, but I don't know which core is better to run on the 478, Prescott or Northwood.
and would a Pentium 4 2.8-3.0GHz prescott be much of an upgrade?

Not much of an upgrade, but its going to be better than your old one.
