Default Upgrading CPU.

Im thinking about upgrading my CPU in a little while.
Right now im running a sempron 2500+
What would my best bet for a AMD socket A upgrade.

also has anyone heard anything about the Athlon MP?

Abit NF7-S mobo
AMD Sempron 2500+ @ 1902MHz
Nvidia xfx ge-force 5200, 128MB
WD 20GB HDD SATA (system)
Maxtor 120GB HDD IDE (storage)
1024MB Dual Cannel 400MHz RAM
350W Aurora PSU
Win XP SP2
Memorex 16x Dual Layer DVD +/- RW
180Mhz is offline

meh, there's really no upgrade unless you want to go xp-mobile and overclok the hell out of it like nubius, but i don't know if you know anything about overclocking.

either that, or you're going to have to upgrade to socket 939 for an amd 64

Not a lot of difference in price or speed.

Biggest differences are heat and power consumption.

i have an xp and after seeing my friends mobile i wish i got one of them...they are cheap too...get a mobile chip from amd

for socket A platform, i think AMD Athlon XP Barton 3200++ is the max. u can go ~~~
The athlon mp is a server class cpu~~~

Nubius has his pc overclocked to 2.6ghz for mormal use, and can get it higher.

I think your money will be better spent on the graphics card, as a 5200 is going to be holding you back alot further than processor.
